For the first time in television history, the entire path that candidates dreaming of the role of their lives will go through will be shown. NOVA viewers will see interesting people who will try to touch the strength and spirit of Hristo Stoichkov. Part of the first episode will be iconic names who glorified Bulgaria with the successes achieved at the 1994 World Cup – Nasko Sirakov, Borislav Mihaylov, Yordan Lechkov, Krasimir Balakov, Daniel Borimirov and Emil Kostadinov. They will share memories that connect them with Hristo Stoichkov – about all the successes and difficulties they went through together as a team, and what he is like off the field. CSKA’s Stoycho Mladenov, the president of the volleyball federation Lyubomir Ganev, as well as the young hope of football – the captain of the Bulgarian national team Kiril Despodov, will also reveal their personal impressions.
In the first episode, actress Anya Pencheva, director Martin Makariev and journalist Vladimir Pamukov will be joined as a guest jury in the format by actor Alexander Dimov. They will evaluate dozens of candidates and decide who will proceed to the next stage of the casting. Among them will be both actors and people from a variety of fields – a firefighter, an engineer with expertise in quantum computing, a Harvard student candidate, an ultramarathoner and many others. The selection of an actor to play the winner of the 1994 Golden Ball and Golden Boot will go through a series of trials and challenges, which NOVA viewers will see in the upcoming episodes of “You’re Already Playing… Stoichkov”. The original reality format will mark the beginning of the creative process for the biographical film “Stoichkov – The Movie”, which is due to premiere in 2027. The project is supported by Winbet.
